5 Things Your Website Needs

Real talk: If your website is missing just ONE of these 5 key conversion pages…

…you could be missing out on TONS of new leads…

Or worse – paying customers.

In this blog, I’m going to walk you through the 5 most important pages EVERY SINGLE website should have.

Why you need it, what to put on it, and most importantly…

I’ll give you the tools you need DIY it yourself – like a pro.

Hey, Posse! What’s up? It’s Alex.

Coming at ya this week with a tutorial that sooooo many Posse Peeps have been asking me for – some TLC for outdated, lackluster, poor-converting websites!

Well… I heard you loud and clear and this article is going to outline everything you’ll need to create a professional website that looks good, sounds good, and converts good too.

But before we get into that…

If you’re new to the crew – welcome!

Here on my blog, you’ll get the tools, resources, trainings, and tutorials you need to build a successful business. We’ll cover everything from emails to social media to branding and so much more.

Now – let’s get into it!

Starting with WHY you should even care about your website?

I mean… isn’t having a website more of an “obligation” than anything else?

People don’t even look at the thing… Right?

WRONG.

So, so, so wrong.

On the contrary… 97% of purchasing decisions are directly influenced by a company’s website.

Which is MASSIVE.

But it’s not enough to just have a “pretty good” website…

You also need to WOW your prospects fast.

Because they’re only gonna hang around for 0.05 seconds before they decide whether or not your website is working sticking around on.

Yup – in 0.05 seconds, your ideal audience will make a snap judgment on whether they want to learn more from you or keep searching for someone – or something – better…

That means you’ve got less than a second to make a lasting impression, convey your expertise, wow your prospects, and clearly communicate your message.

So, if your website has taken a back seat on your list of priorities…

This is your sign to spruce it up and give it some TLC.

A little attention to these 5 very specific conversion pages can go a LONG WAY in helping you get ranked on Google, get more qualified leads, and of course – convert those leads into paying customers.

And that’s why I’m super excited to announce that we just released an INSANELY practical Website Toolkit mini-course that walks you through every single step of creating a high-converting website…

But today in this blog, I’m going to talk about these 5 website pages

What are the most important pages to have on your website? AND WHY?

Let’s get into it.

Starting with the most important page on your entire website…

How To Write A Home Page

Your Homepage is most often the very first thing new prospects see on your website…

According to MarTech Today, a company’s Homepage accounts for up to 50% of a site’s total pageviews.

But your homepage isn’t JUST important because it accounts for so much of your site’s total views…

It’s also 10-20x MORE VALUABLE than any other page on your website.

Because visitors to your Homepage often spend more time on your website and click around to view additional pages.

So what’s the goal of your Homepage?

Well, it’s actually pretty simple….

Create trust, build authority, and offer next steps

You need to professionally and clearly communicate:

  • the what
  • the who
  • the where
  • the when
  • the why
  • and the how of your business…

Think of your Homepage as your PR page! It’s public relations at its finest…

You really want to make a great first impression, put your best foot forward, and get your prospects interested enough to stick around and explore more of your website.

Now, after your Homepage, the next most important (and very underlooked) page is…

How To Write An About Page

That’s right…

No matter what type of business you have – your About Page is *the* most important supporting asset of your website.

With more audiences worldwide seeking brands that they can personally connect with (and share their values) the About Page is your way of answering the question: “Who are you… really?

Because the truth is – there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of brands and businesses that do exactly the same thing you do.

One of the best ways to stand above the competition is to share your brand story and relate to your prospect on a deeper and more personal level…

And the best place to do this is your About Page.

Unfortunately, many businesses overlook their About Page completely, treating it like an obligatory brag-fest that doesn’t hold much weight…

Or, worse, jamming it full of corporate jargon that nobody cares about.

This is a huge mistake.

No matter what industry you’re in – coaching, consulting, B2B, SaaS, MarTech, e-commerce, etc. – your About Page is a valuable opportunity for your prospects to connect with your story, your vision, your mission, your values, and what makes you… YOU.

The goal of your About Page is to:

  • Humanize your brand with a story…
  • Share your values and vision…
  • And connect with your reader on a personal level.

Alright, next up…

What To Include On A Service Page

The Offers Page of your website. This is where your prospects go to find out EXACTLY how you can help them.

Which means… this is very important to get right.

Because this is ultimately where they make the decision to buy or fly.

Where the Homepage and About Page are more about authority and relationship building…

Your Offers Page is all about delivering information to the people LOOKING to move forward with you.

If a website visitor is on your Offers Page, they are a HOT lead, so this page needs to be persuasive, clear, and direct.

The goal of your Offers Page is to:

  • List out and briefly explain the services/packages/products/programs you offer
  • Showcase your expertise
  • Inspire action

Exactly how you’ll do this will vary depending on the type of brand/business you have.

In the Look Legit Website Toolkit, you’ll find 3 different formulas for you to follow based on what your business is.

  • Services & Packages (for freelancers, consultants, coaches, etc.)
  • Pricing (for SaaS, software, apps, etc.)
  • Catalog (for info-products, programs, eCommerce, etc.)

The next page is something I guarantee MOST businesses overlook…

How To Get Good Customer Testimonials

90% of customers say their purchasing decision is directly influenced by testimonials and customer reviews.

This means every single entrepreneur, coach, freelancer, and business – whether it’s service-based, eCommerce, or B2B – should collect and publicly showcase customer testimonials, reviews, or case studies on their website.

Social proof is basically your way of telling people… “Hey, I’m legit. I actually know what I’m doing, I do it well, AND I get results!

So, if you haven’t already been prioritizing collecting testimonials, screenshots, or positive reviews from your customers…

IT’S TIME TO START.

Now, if you’re wondering – yeah, but how?!

I break down my exact method for getting amazing customer testimonials inside the Look Legit Website Toolkit…

But here are a few quick tips to get you started:

  1. Make it super easy for them by telling them exactly what you need or even better… send them a short form to fill out.
  2. Ask open-ended questions to get the juiciest answers. Stay away from “yes/no” questions.
  3. Act FAST. The sooner you ask for a testimonial, the higher your chances of getting one!

Alright, now the final page every website SHOULD have – especially if you want to stand any chance of ever landing on Page 1 of Google…
